The Children of Jinja

Filmed in Jinja, Uganda in the summer of 2023, "The Children of Jinja" examines poverty and educational inequality in Jinja's slum communities through the voices of children, teachers, social workers, and parents working to address them. The project was produced in partnership with Children On The Edge, a UK-based non-profit.

 
 
 

Acid Attacks: A Story Of Survival

In this film, two survivors of acid attack violence, Noreen and Humaira, recount their journey towards self-empowerment against all odds while navigating social barriers, medical challenges, and a long quest for justice in Pakistan where acid attacks are a brutal form of gender-based violence.

Filmed in Lahore and Islamabad during the summer of 2022, this documentary also spotlights Pakistan's efforts to combat acid-based violence by weaving together intimate narratives with insights from activists and medical and legal experts. The project was sponsored by the Pulitzer Center based in D.C.
